Uganda’s Youngest Presidential Candidate John Katumba To Tackle Unemployment

The 2021 youngest Presidential candidate John Katumba has vowed to tackle youth unemployment if he is voted the president.

Close to 400,000 graduates join the job market however government only absorbs  90, 000 while others wonder on the streets.

International Monetary Fund experts estimate that Uganda will need to create 600,000 jobs. Especially if the country wants to address the issue of unemployment.

At just 24 years, John Katumba, fresh graduate from Makerere University pledged to address youth unemployment, land grabbing, increase health budget and education sector.

Last year’s amendment to the Presidential Act made Katumba’s historic achievement possible. Parliament lowered the age of any Presidential contender from 35 years to 18 in 2019.

Katumba’s symbol is a table while his slogan is  “I don’t Speak the Change, I Make the Change.”

Meeting media Katumba said “I want to fight land grabbing, I don’t want you to think that this is fiction.

I want us to be realistic in whatever is happening in this country. For instance people who grab land are Ugamdans, they are not from heaven. I am going to protect Ugandans and their property, ”
