According to UMWA Media officer Joanita Nankya, she explained while expressing more light about the  high singling of male journalists in their professional line of their duties by state and none state actors. She regarded this as something that has been caused by the fact that female anchors are not allocated by their editors to also participate in specific fields.

(UMWA) condemns mistreatment to male journalists.

She said all this while addressing journalists at (UMWA) head office, which is staged at Mama FM ,Kisaasi found in Kampala.

“The some few months back riots that surfaced in Kampala and upcountry made almost all male journalists suffer as victims of brutality while expressing their profession. This is mainly attributed to the fact that female journalists are not as daring as their male counterparts, when it comes to confronting chaotic scenes of riots”, she claimed.

To add-on, she clearly hinted about the need for media owners, Editors to view the use of gender inclusiveness and respect of journalists because they too deserve respect in their own sector.
