Kenyan Schools and head teachers Turned Into Coops Due To Covid-19 Outbreak

We Are Not Ready – Some Head Teachers Have Cried Out

Some head teachers have cried out to the ministry of education saying they are not ready to start operating. The most affected schools are private schools especially those in the village. Schools are opening on 15th October 2020 but shockingly some schools do not even have a Jerrycan of water.

There are no signs at all to show that they will be opening on Thursday.

Most of the heads of schools have cried out to the government for assistance financially. They openly stated that they don’t even have food to feed the students and teachers as well.

One of the head teachers actually said she has been feeding on the food her school had kept in the store during COVID period. If not helped, probably the learners will be carrying their own food.

This alarm has however not been made by only schools but by the learners too. Some learners have confessed that they will miss out on school because their parents are not ready. These learners have resorted to doing simple work around their communities to help their parents put food in the table.

On the other hand, most schools are more than ready to have their students back. They have put in place every precaution to ensure safety against Coronavirus.

Not to leave other students behind, the government had suggested that if a school is not ready they could probably send their students to ready schools to have them sit their finals there.

The ministry of education should probably look into helping out students who have nothing regarding the requirements of school. Otherwise most candidates and finalists are going to be left out due to financial constraints.
