We Know NUP’s Weaknesses, They Can’t Be A Threat To Us – DP Spokesperson

DP Spokesperson, Okoler Opio Lo Amanu has said NUP can’t be a threat to Democratic Party. This is because they know NUP’s weaknesses and how they play their politics.

According to him, if NUP was to wipe them off, that would be in the previous elections because most of their members joined NUP. By the matter of fact, that DP is still standing up to now means the party is going no where.

“NUP has never been a threat to DP otherwise DP would be no more. It came at the time when DP was organizing for an election and had prepared and organised its candidates .It took almost all the candidates in the central region. We know how they play and we know their weaknesses therefore they can’t be a threat to us . DP is firmly grounded, a party which was formed a few months ago cannot be a threat to a party like DP.”

Okoler said the business of opposition parties competing with each other is schemed by the current regime.

Opposition is not supposed to fight each other

Otherwise, opposition is not meant fight with each other but rather join hands to face one common opponent.

“The politics of weighing the strength of political parties in the opposition is actually orchestrated by the regime. When you begin looking at yourself as the giant in the opposition, you will step on the toes of other political players, when that happens they will definitely retaliate,” DP spokesperson said.

Democratic Party is undergoing what one would call a rejuvenation process currently. Definitely, they are not as strong as they were in the previous especially with the coming of NUP.

Fact is currently NUP is the strongest opposition party right now and this is why even the leader of opposition came from there.
