Widow In Moroto Stabbed Over A Cup Of Porridge

A widow in Moroto is in hospital fighting for her life after a niece stabbed her over a cup of porridge. Apparently, the 39-year-old woman was stabbed after a petty squabble. Christine Okoi, the victim is currently at Moroto hospital fighting for her life.

The police came after receiving a call from the victims’ neighbours. She was found in a pool of blood at her home in Katanga village, on the outskirts of Moroto. Most of the people around had started to think she is probably dead but the police found her with some life.

Speaking to the media, the victims’ daughter, Jacinta Okoi said her mum was stabbed multiple times.

Christine Okoi has undergone surgery due to the injuries she got. However, she is still at a very critical stage and nothing can be celebrated as of now.

The niece to Christine has been detained according to a reliable source. The police though had not come out to say whether she is the one. They have however promised to publicly name the criminal after thorough investigation. Meanwhile, the suspect is set to stand before court any time soon.

Christine Okoi neighbours are still in shock after this monstrous act. Most of them say Okoi is a very good person who wouldn’t even hurt a fly. Joan Nakiru calls her a wonderful person.

“We used to sit and talk and laugh for hours. I’m still in shock. I pray she recovers quickly.”

Meanwhile, a mental check-up should perhaps be considered before the suspect is charged. A cup of porridge is too little a thing to cause anyone to be stabbed unless there are hidden motives too.
