26 year old Woman Convicted For Kidnapping Herself

Nasirye Sarah is the 26 year old lady that was declared guilty for kidnapping herself and asking ransom from her father.

Sarah allegedly kidnapped herself and asked a ransom of 10M from her father Hajji Sulaiman Mutyaba.

However, after investigations by police, it found out that Nasirye was never kidnapped by anyone but herself.

This forced the police to arrest her and present her before court. But before appearing to court, she admitted that she had kidnapped herself to ask money from her father.

Despite admitting the truth of kidnapping herself, this didn’t stop the magistrate of the Buganda royal court to convict her.

Kidnapping is becoming a form of business amongst few Ugandans in the past weeks.

Nasirye is not the first person to kidnap herself and ask ransom from relatives, loved ones or from the family.

Last week police arrested a 21 year Uwase who also kidnapped herself and asked ransom from her boyfriend. Still in the same week, a UPDF officer was arrested for allegedly kidnapping her own wife and demanded for ransom from his father in law.
