Worship Places To Open, Limited to 200 people

President Museveni has directed worship places to reopen. However, he has limited the number to only 200 people. Churches and mosques will start operating this week under strict observation of the SOPs.

“Places of worship can now open: limit the number of worshippers to not more than 200 people with strict adherence to SOPs,” President Museveni

The President has asked worship place leaders to partner with the government in sensitizing the people to vaccinate. On top of this, he said they should make sure everyone has a mask on including the choir members plus social distancing in Church.

As for weddings, the president has increased the number from 20 to 200 people. They too, like worship places, must observe all the necessary SOPs.

Meanwhile, bars and all other entertainment places are to remain closed until 4.8 million people are vaccinated. He says drunkards find it hard to even walk, so they actually can’t be in charge of their lives.

“You can’t go to a bar and expect soberness… the bar is opposite of sobriety. Even walking is a problem.
Because of that problem, they will be considered for reopening after the 4.8 or 6M people… they can then go even if they are staggering.”

On the issue of schools;

Schools have also not been opened despite all the cries from the government. The president says this is hard because not all students are boarders.

This is why schools too are waiting until vaccination has been taken more serious.

In regard to curfew, the president has still kept it at 7:00pm. Still the motorcyclists will have to stop by 6:00pm while taxis can go up to 7:00pm.

Due to this, night prayers are not expected to happen probably until further notice.
