You Destroyed Community Policing, Munyagwa To Police

Former Kawempe South Member of Parliament, Mubarak Munyagwa, has said Police destroyed community policing. He says it’s too late for Police to call out citizens to help with crime fighting. He said while on the NBS Barometer show.

“President Museveni made police people’s enemy. Drones always pick people up. How do you expect people to give information to this police? They destroyed community policing.”

“Police was destroyed. They filled it with Army officers. Genuine police officers now do PR,” he added.

Munyagwa was responding to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Muletera Anatori who said citizens need to work with police to stop crime.

Munyagwa says the police lost trust among the Ugandans when they started fighting to keep Museveni in power at the expense of citizens.

“The police that is supposed to safeguard people and their property is now used to keep Museveni in power.”

“In Uganda we don’t have police that’s why police is commanded by the army. The museveni always calls his army,” a one Kutesa added.

Munyagwa however said the police need to be credited for working in such harsh conditions. He further said it’s not easy for one earning Ugshs250,000 to guard a Minister who is earning about Uganda shs 50M.
