He says this is the same thing they went through when they went to the bush but they later became saviors.
“Don’t worry about those Ugandans. When we were fighting Amin, many were calling us vagabonds(when we went to the bush) because we had left jobs. A job of working under Amin and you call it jobs? For us we were despising them. For us we decided to fight. By the time we came, we were no longer vagabonds but Moses. We had become David who killed Goliath. Don’t think about those fellows talking anything. They are wasting their time and talking nothing,” Museveni added.
Museveni commended Tumwiine for his resilience even after being shot in the eye. Gen Tumwine returned to the frontline to continue with the bush war, a thing he said a few would afford.
Museveni emphatically said Tumwiine is in fact not dead, his children are now living his life.
“There is eternity through children. Tumwine has not died. He is abundantly here through children. He was one and now many.”
Tumwine’s daughter asked public to forgive her late father
Meanwhile, General Tumwine’s daughter, Cynthia Tumwine, asked the public to forgive her father for any wrong thing he did. She said this while speaking to mourners at the deceased’s home in Nakasero on Sunday night.
She says this is a conviction they received as a family while they were in Nairobi hospital.
