HARARE— Not many people know about this kind of contest, but Zimbabwe is among the countries in Africa that begun organizing annual Mr Ugly contests, this year’s event was finalized on Saturday and the judges chose a 42 year old Milton Sere, after citing a number of several missing teeth and a wide range of deformed facial expressions over Masvinu William who reportedly held Mr Ugly title for the last three consecutive years.

As you can see Sere smiling in the picture above after winning the 2015 Mr Ugly competition in the capital, Harare on Saturday, 21st / Nov, Sere who over took the former Mr ugly Masvinu William was rewarded with the top price of $500.

Sere was handsome to win

However, Masvinu and his supporters were not satisfied with the judge’s decision of choosing Sere, they said Sere was too handsome to win the competition, but the judges said they were looking for people with natural ugliness and that’s why they chose Sere among the 35 contestants because he had the qualities they were looking for.

Sere who pocketed the $500 said, “ they should accept that i am more ugly than them and on top of that I make a living showing my ugliness to local school children nearby in Harare.

I started this contest in order to let people know that its not a crime to be ugly, its God given and we should be proud of who we are,” said Machowa David, the pageant organizer.
