Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro Says Ugandans Should Thank Bobi Wine For LOP Change

National Unity Platform (NUP) deputy spokes Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro has asked Ugandans to applaud Bobi Wine for changing the leader of opposition. He said people fear change but he stood out and did it without any fear of what people will say about it.

In 2021, Bobi Wine appointed Hon Mathias Mpuuga as the leader of opposition. But as time went by, he was accused of disrespecting fellow NUP leaders. There has been rumour for a long time that he would remove Mpuuga and replace him with another leader.

Last week, the rumour was confirmed after Bobi Wine called a press and announced that Hon Joel Senyonyi is the new leader of opposition.

Most Ugandans were not surprised by it as they saw it coming. Some, however, say that Hon Zaake would have been the right replacement.

According to Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, everyone is saying whatever they can but deep down, they know that Bobi Wine did the right thing.

He said Bobi Wine is breaking records and making change look very easy. He said other leaders should learn from him and embrace change too.

“We should applaud the President because this is the first turnover of the Leader of the Opposition (LOP). There has always been a struggle in bringing about change and other leaders should pick a leaf,” he said.
