Besigye Says The Freedom Struggle In Country Is Not A Generational Struggle

Former Presidential Candidate, Kizza Besigye, has said the freedom struggle is not a generational struggle. He said this while commenting on Muhoozi’s claim that he is the young people’s voice. Besigye says the country can’t have father and son ruling it as they want.

“There is no Muhoozi or Museveni, they are all the same juntas and personifications of pain to Ugandans. It doesn’t matter how you present it. There is an attempt to say that Muhoozi is a young generation, this is not a generational struggle. We must have a plan for the prevention, detection, and response for these emergencies and these plans must be known to the public.”

A number of politicians have come out to complain about the same. They say Museveni and his family want to make Uganda a monarchy where leadership is hereditary. The NRM Party though has declined all claims of having Muhoozi as their presidential candidate in 2026.

In fact Emmanuel Dombo, the NRM director of information and publicity says he can’t talk about him at all because he is a serving military officer.

“He should first become a member of the NRM for me to discuss. Even if I wanted to talk about him, it wouldn’t be through this forum. He is a serving military officer.”

Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi, NUP president, has always told Ugandans to be vigilant claiming Museveni and son want to take over the country.
