Bunyoro -Tooro Regional Khadi Suspended By Sheikh Shaban Mubaje

Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has suspended the Bunyoro-Tooro regional Kadhi from office. Sheikh Muhammad Irumba has been suspended from office because of a number of issues, one of them being his cause of divisions among the Muslims in the region.

‘’You are hereby suspended from the office of the regional Kadhi Bunyoro-Tooro Muslim region with immediate effect,’’ a letter from Mubaje reads in part.

Mubajje requested Sheikh Irumba to hand over all the office equipment including the vehicle with immediate effect.

Sheikh Shaban noted in the letter he wrote that they established the Muslim regional administration to bridge the gap between the headquarters and lower administrative structure. But most importantly, to unite Muslims. He said Irumba has failed to unite the Muslims of the Bunyoro-Tooro region

He further said in the letter that this disunity has disrupted the smooth running of council work.

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) spokesperson, Zziwa Ashraf said that the Khadi has failed to initiate developmental programs. He has by far, only confused the entire Muslim community in the region, hence his suspension.

It should also be noted that the entire Muslim region got fed up with him.
