Comedians Can Stand Alone Without Musicians – Alex Muhangi

Comedy Store CEO Alex Muhangi has revealed that comedians don’t need musicians to have successful careers. This has been an ongoing debate for some time.

Musicians have demanded respect from comedians saying they are where they are because of them.

Most comedy shows in Uganda usually have artists ready to perform. This has become a habit and it is very difficult to find a comedy show without music.

The question has always been about comedians standing strong without support from artists.

As a comedian, Alex Muhangi has revealed that comedians are very independent and they can stand strong without singers.

He said the only reason musicians are always in comedy shows and vice versa is because they share the same audience.

Most of the fans that enjoy comedy, usually enjoy music too and it is an easy way to bring fans a cocktail in a concert.

“Comedians can indeed stand alone without musicians. However, in the end, we all cater to the same audience. The vision behind Comedy Store was to create a fusion of comedy and music,” he said in his recent interview.

It should be noted that the comedian himself has joined the music industry as a singer. He has released a number of songs although he doesn’t usually get on stage to perform them.

He also revealed that his music is just for fun and not business-based like these other professional artists do.
