Equity Bank Commended For Supporting CoU Sustainability Agenda

The management and staff of Equity bank has been commended by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda The Most Rev Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu.

He did this as a sign of appreciation towards the bank for supporting the church’s sustainability agenda that is bringing about development.

He made these remarks yesterday during a visit to Equity Bank Lira branch. Here, he joined the staff led by the Equity Bank Chief Executive Officer Dr James Mwangi for prayers.

Accompanied by the Bishop of Lango Diocese Rt Rev Prof Alfred Olwa, Rev. Stephen said the bank has been so supportive to the church.

He said this has helped in the struggle for self-sustainability. He also encouraged the staff to continue working selflessly with integrity and passion.

Dr Mwangi thanked the Archbishop for putting aside his busy schedule to congregate with the staff. He also pledged further collaboration in supporting the Church of Uganda in development projects.

In other developments, the archbishop earlier commissioned the St Barnabas Dokolo Archdeaconry Church of Uganda.

Lawrence and Alfred, twin brothers to Hon Cecilia Ogwal oversaw the construction of this church.

Archbishop Kaziimba Mugalu also had a fruitful Ministry at Orum Archdeaconry in Otuke District. He even laid a foundation stone for the construction of the Archdeacon’s residential house.
