Jose Chameleone Pleads With Media Not To Put Him Against Uneducated Musicians For His Degree

Legendary singer Jose Chameleone real name Joseph Mayanja has pleaded with the media not to pin him against uneducated musicians because of his degree.

He said he went back to school for himself, not others especially those they think are competing with him.

Chameleone just graduated last week. It was his first graduation because he dropped out of school after form six. He went to Nairobi Kenya to pursue his dream of singing, that is where his career actually started.

Now in his 40s without any more competition and pressure to release music, the singer decided to go back and achieve a degree. Chameleone graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international relations at Cavendish University.

It was a great moment for him and his family. His father said he always worked hard to make sure his children graduated but those that decided to sing didn’t achieve that. The fact that Chameleone later understood what his father wanted for him made him so happy.

According to the singer, he doesn’t want journalists asking him questions comparing him with his fellow musicians. This is especially those that didn’t go to school.

“Please let me be, don’t put me in wars of musicians who studied and those who didn’t study. I went back to study for myself,” he said.

It should be noted that Bebe Cool also stopped at form six and Bobi Wine achieved a diploma in Music Dance and Drama (MDD).
