Kebisoni Town Council Streets Lit Up By WhatsApp Group Members

Kebisoni Tumanyane is a WhatsApp-based group in Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District. The group members apparently pooled resources totaling to approximately Ugx 7 million and procured a Street Solar Lighting System.

After procurement, they installed the lights along Kebisoni Town Council streets in Rubabo County, Rukungiri district.

The Kebisoni Tumanyane is a voluntary WhatsApp group that has existed for over four years now. The members of the group are born, raised, or live in Greater Kebisoni. They created the group to support each other in all situations, good or bad.

Ms Emily Atuheire Bronte, the treasurer of the group said they intended to give back to the community that nurtured them. This is because some of the members no longer live in Kebisoni anymore.

She said they were able to pool the funds from members voluntarily. They then procured 3 solar-powered lighting systems which have been installed in the area.

The area Chairman, Alex Nathan Mugabe hailed the group revealing how important it is to appreciate one’s origin.

Adrine Keshaaha, the Kebisoni Town Council Clerk personally supervised the installation of the solar Power Lighting System. She thanked the project initiators for lighting up the streets of Kebisoni.
