Muslim Pilgrims Urged To Renew Spirituality During Mecca Trip

103 Muslim pilgrims have made their journey to Mecca including a nine-year-old Ibrahim Male Kakoma. In attendance at the farewell ceremony was Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje.

As Sheikh Mubaje saw the pilgrims off, he urged them to refrain from taking pictures purposely for showing off.

He also noted that worldly affairs like unnecessary talks on sports or politics are not good for the pilgrims.

He said this can ruin someone’s pilgrimage. Furthermore, Mubaje told the pilgrims that this is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of worship adding the importance of being very careful.

“So, use your time wisely to supplicate fervently to the Lord as you beseech his glorious face for your personal favors. Pray for your family, peace of our nation, our president, Muslim leadership, UMSC in general and for the entire world to be free from wars and natural calamities,” Mubaje said.

To add to that, he noted that there is a newly signed cooperation agreement between Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) and Saudi Arabia. He said the agreement will help streamline the management of Haj-Muslim pilgrimage.

More still, the Mufti urged the pilgrims to show their gratitude to Allah. He said they are among the chosen few to perform the pilgrimage this year.

According to Mubaje, the pilgrims will return like newly born babies without any sins after this pilgrimage. They therefore will be rewarded in the hereafter with lofty castles of Paradise.

The Secretary General of the UMSC, Muhammad Ali Aluma is also part of the pilgrims. He said the Muslim body has strong systems governing finances deposited by pilgrims on its accounts. This explains why there have been no pilgrims complaining this far.
