Over 30 Golfers Ready For The Kenya 2022 Golf Day Tournament

The 2022 Kenya (Jamhuri) Golf Day tournament is set to happen with a prize of Shs 6,000,000 for the winner. A total of 35 professional golfers will be taking part in the tournament to vie for this prize.

They are set to play today for 18 holes in Kampala (Kitante) at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club.

David Kamulindwa, the golfer to be looked out for, comes into this tournament with amazing form. He just triumphed at the Eastern open that took place in Mbale recently.

He will therefore tee off alongside Nasser Mackie and James Koto.

“I will play my usual game; keeping on the fairways, perfect approach and putting,” he said after a practice round in Entebbe on Wednesday.

The action will begin as early as 8am with Phillip Kasozi and Silver Opio’s duo facing off. Grace Kasango, the 2022 Kinyara sugar winner will play alongside Happy Robert later on and it will run until 9:50am.

After confirming over 250 golfers, the main open will be held on Saturday, 10th December 2022. Further, the Golf Day tournament has been sponsored by a number of companies in terms of finance towards the organization.

Some of them also include MTN Uganda, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), Kenya Airways, KCB Bank among others.

The prize for the professionals will be the shs 6,000,000 and the amateurs will be vying for trophies and other rewards.

The overall outstanding golfers will be rewarded with return air tickets from Entebbe to Nairobi and Mombasa cities.
