Pastor Martin Ssempa On The Journey To Decolonize Western Culture In Uganda

Controversial city pastor Martin Ssempa is on the journey to decolonize the minds of church congregants and Ugandans at large. He said Ugandans and the whole of Africa deserve better than the western culture which is destroying the young generation.

The “man of God” has been vocal when it comes to Western values. He is among the few people who publicly talked about homosexuality.

He said he doesn’t support it as he was even suggesting that there should be heavy punishments for those that practice it.

This pastor has also been talking about the dress code of musicians at different events. He doesn’t support what most female musicians put on saying it teaches the young generation’s bad behaviour.

At the moment Pastor Martin Ssempa is saying that Ugandans should stop putting on western clothes and embrace the cultural African wear.

These days he appears in public dressed in the African traditional attire. He is always wearing hides and skin that our great-grandparents used to put on.

The pastor said he would be happy to see celebrities put on that and the speaker of parliament to serve as a good example to the people she is leading.

“What we have to do is decolonize and reject white culture, but still preserve our religions. I have started to dress in our cultural wear hide and skin. I would like to see celebrities and the speaker of parliament put the same attire on,” he said.
