Ray G Still Bitter With Kampala Musicians Who Come Off As ‘Powerful’

Singer Ray G is not yet done with Kampala musicians who he claims consider themselves as ‘powerful’ when it comes to stage. He said they are so much annoying especially when they show up at events that are out of the city.

The singer recently fought with Swangz Avenue singer Azawi. It all happened in Mbarara western Uganda where the two musicians were all supposed to perform.

The problem was based on which musicians were to perform first and the other. Azawi claims that she was supposed to perform but Ray G interrupted her. She blamed the fight on Ray because he was in his home town where fans were more familiar with him.

According to Ray G, being in Mbarara wasn’t the issue, the problem is because artists based in Kampala think they are above others.

The singer said he was not the only one who was overtaken but because he is seen as the weak one, he was targeted and the mission was accomplished.

“We have normalized saying that if a musician comes and they’re more powerful than the other, they can access the stage with no say. Artists who are based in other regions are taken advantage of and that’s what happened in my case,” he said.

It should be noted that Ray G and Azawi finally apologized to each other and seem to have moved on.
