Security Agencies Hold Meeting To Ensure Safety During Easter

Security Agencies Hold Meeting To Ensure Safety During Easter

Earlier today, the Interagency meeting sat to devise ways of maintaining security in the country as Easter holidays kick off today. The agency met to review and plan the implementation of Operation “pasaka tulivu” ahead of the celebrations.

This joint operation is intended to enhance security in major hotspots around the city and also other areas.

This will help thwart possible crimes such as terrorism, thuggery, politically motivated crimes among other things.

The operation will also aim at controlling possible traffic accidents, epidemic outbreak such as Covid-19 as well as fire outbreaks.

The bodies that attended the meeting include UPDF, Military Police, Uganda Prisons service, ISO, ESO and Uganda Police Force. The Uganda Police Force is the lead agency in this safety operation.

It called upon all members of the public to follow regulations so as not to fall on the wrong side of the law. They were also advised to inform any police station nearby in case of suspicious activity, persons or items.

“The public is advised to practice hygiene and to be mindful of the spread of diseases especially Marburg and Covid 19. We advise parents and guardians to mind their children’s safety at all times,” a communiqué pointed said.

All fuel truck and motor vehicle drivers are encouraged to follow the guidelines traffic officers give them. This is to help minimize accidents and other situations.
