Why Television Is Slowly Losing Relevance In Modern Society

In recent times, Television is slowly losing relevance in the society at a faster rate than normal.

To many people now, television is just another thing and not part of the priorities as it was way back. Television stations are just competing for market with just a few people but hardly attracting new people to follow them.

The question though is, why is television losing relevance and yet it shouldn’t. The lack of content on our TV stations is so alarming.

You will find the same exact programs with just a twist of a few things to make it seem original. TV stations are simply copying each other but not adding value to the content.

This has made the whole thing very boring and unbearable because you can’t watch the same things on different stations.

Creativity is like a myth to our stations. Even when one tries to be creative, you will find another station duplicating the exact program on their station. These things are simply making television lose relevance.

As if the lack of creativity is not enough, YouTube has not left television the same. Many media personalities have decided to quit their jobs on TVs to start their own programs on YouTube.

If they don’t act early, television may just remain as a place to get news of which this too is not a problem with the internet.

Television programmers should go back to the drawing board and create content that is relevant to the new generation.

It is not a matter of just being on air but what you are airing is equally important otherwise we have seen stations collapse just after a month of being on air.
