AFCON 2023: South Africa Eliminates 10-man Morocco To Qualify For Quarter Finals

AFCON 2023 has seen South Africa humble a 10-man Morocco outfit in a round of 16 contest at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in San Pedro on Tuesday night. A goal in either half from Evidence Makgopa and Teboho Mokoena inspired Hugo Broos’ coached side to a memorable victory.

Morocco was reduced to 10 men when Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat was sent off late in the game. This was the last round of 16 duel played on the same day Mali ejected Burkina Faso 2-1 at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly stadium.

  • Cape Verde 1-0 Mauritania
  • Equatorial Guinea 0-1 Guinea
