Breaking News; Court Issues Arrest Warrant For Pastor Mondo Mugisha

News coming in indicates that the Magistrates Court at Buganda Road has issued an arrest warrant for celebrated city pastor, Franklin Mondo Mugisha. Court wants him to answer charges of obtaining money by false pretense.

The city pastor is also facing charges of conspiracy to defraud. This is in regards to a shs4.5 billion case involving fake government scholarships. However, he has on several occasions failed to honor court summons. This prompted the prosecution lawyers to request an arrest warrant.

Whereas during the previous court session the pastor’s lawyers told the court that he had flown to South Africa for treatment and that he would be back soon. They repeated the same narrative earlier today but the prosecutors objected to the claims.

The state lawyers told the court that Mondo’s lawyers had failed to produce medical forms to confirm his admission to a hospital in South Africa.

In response, the trial grade one magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu issued an arrested warrant against Mondo. She says it is only the warrant that can have him forcefully brought to court.

This development comes a few weeks after Mondo said he had fled the country to seek asylum in South Africa citing a witch-hunt on trumped-up charges.

On Maggie Kayima;

The same court in a related development further remanded local gospel musician Margaret Kayima alias Nabbi Omukazi to Kigo prison.

The prosecution accuses Nabbi Omukazi is of allegedly trying to help Pastor Siraj Ssemanda escape punishment. The latter apparently fleeced a number of his followers more than shs4.5 billion in fake state house scholarship programs. He is charged together with Pastor Mondo Mugisha and a one jimmy Arinaitwe.

On Thursday, the same court granted Nabbi Omukazi bail on one file but the magistrate said she could not leave Kigo prison since she has two pending files.

She will therefore stay in prison together with her two other co-accused until February 12, 2020.
