Father Remanded For Allegedly Defiling 3-Month Old Daughter

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed the trial of a 30-year-old father before the High Court. The directive comes after allegations that the man defiled his 3-month-old biological daughter.

Zaidi Kanonko has appeared before Mukono court grade one magistrate Steven Waidhuba who committed him on the DPP’s orders.

Prosecution states that the accused committed the offense on September 19th 2020 at Geregere village in Buikwe district.

It adds that on the fateful day at around 5pm, the mother left the victim home with her father. She did this because she wanted to buy some groceries from the market.

20 minutes later, she returned only to find Kanonko had undressed the baby. To add salt to the injury, he had changed into shorts from the trouser he wore earlier before she left.

She found him lying on the floor beside the toddler that cried uncontrollably at the time.

The victim’s mother then rushed her baby to Kawolo hospital in Lugazi where doctors conducted an examination.

The findings from that indicated that the baby had been defiled because she had fresh bruises around her private parts. The doctors then immediately alerted police from a nearby station who effected the arrest.
