Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda Applauds Military Work At The Ministry Of Internal Affairs

One of the most vocal critics of the government in Parliament, Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has come out to hail the military in the great work they have done in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should be noted that this Ministry is under Gen Kahinda Otafiire.

Previously, there has always been dissatisfaction about service delivery at the Ministry. However, Hon Ssemujju says that the army personnel have greatly transformed this place since he’s previously been there.

Additionally, the Kira Municipality MP said that this shows that different government departments can perform well if the right people are hired.

However, most of the people working in different ministries dont have the minimum qualifications for their jobs. This has therefore proved to be a hindrance to service delivery.

“I have been at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The military people have done a great job in the passport department. One can see a real difference. It is therefore possible to get government ministries to work when the right people are employed. Some of the ministers in the cabinet have no qualifications for their roles,” said the MP.

Additionally, Hon Ssemujju pointed out the case of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA). This is under former URA boss Allen Kagina and the MP thinks that she’s one of the best government employees.

The MP added that before Kagina came in, UNRA was just a failed organization for making black shady deals. However, she has tremendously transformed it and it was one of the best performing government entities at the moment.

“I think Allen Kagina is one of the best employees of this government. That is why UNRA changed. Before, it has become a deal-making center,” added Ssemujju.
