Geoffrey Lutaaya Advises Young Artistes On Marriage

Band musician and politician Geoffrey Lutaaya has advised young artists on how to keep a marriage. He has been with his wife Irene Namatovu for more than 10 years. They are among the strongest celebrity couples in Uganda.

Lately, not so many celebrity couples last long. Those that have lasted have one celebrity partner and the other an ordinary person. Those who have tried marriage when they are both celebrities have separated.

Eddy Kenzo and Rema Namakula are one of the examples. They were together for five years with one child and later broke up. Rema is now happily married to a doctor and their marriage looks stable.

According to Geoffrey Lutaaya, celebrity marriages are good but they are very hard to maintain. The fact that both partners are in the limelight, they have pride in themselves.

He said young celebrities need to know that marriage takes so much before they join it. These celebrities need also to put God in their marriage for it to last longer. With God and respect, Lutaaya said celebrities can have successful marriages like any other people.

“Marriage in general is not an easy thing, celebrities can either succeed or fail like any other person. The only problem is that celebrities are in the limelight. I would advise young artists who want marriage to put God first and also respect each other. That is one of the important things in marriage,” he said.
