Hon Lutamaguzi Refers To Himself As The Political Watermelon

Nakaseke South County member of parliament Hon Lutamaguzi Semakula has referred to himself as the political watermelon. He said he is green outside and red inside which is not a common thing, especially in politics. Lutamaguzi was previously a Democratic party member but later joined Bobi Wine’s party National Unity Platform (NUP).

Although many people have left their political parties to join NUP, Hon Lutamaguzi said he is still in DP although he supports Bobi Wine as his president. According to him, he has been in DP for so many years. However, that hasn’t stopped him from seeing other political parties like NUP that are doing what people like most He said, after all, the political parties he is supporting are not with President Museveni.

The president of DP Hon Nobert Mao last year joined NRM as the minister. Most of the people in DP were not happy with him. Lutamaguzi said Nobert Mao moved by himself alone and it has nothing to do with DP as a political party and the members that subscribe to it.

“I am the political watermelon people talk about. On top I am green but inside I am red. I am in DP but at the same time I support National Unity Platform (NUP) and my president Bobi Wine. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love DP,” he said.
