Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya Did Not Follow Protocol While Going Abroad For Medication- Dr Hilderman

The Mawokota north constituency MP Hon Hilary Kiyaga aka Dr Hilderman who happens to also be the NUP shadow minister for entertainment has said that MP Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya did not follow protocol while flying abroad for medication.

The Kawempe North MP is currently bedridden in the Netherlands in a critical condition. His situation was brought to light by Kampala central Mp Hon Muhammad Nsereko through Facebook. Apparently, Ssegirinya’s medical bills have become too heavy for him to pay.

Opinions have diverged on what role NUP should play in this.

Bobi Wine came out to address the issue saying Nsereko is using this situation simply to chase clout. Hilderman also addressed the same issue saying that the Kawempe North MP didn’t follow the right channels while flying out. This is why he’s suffering with these bills. And yet the likes of Hon Betty Nambooze who followed protocol had Parliament take care of them.

Even Parliament learned of Ssegirinya’s situation through social media. The singer-turned-politician added that even though social media creates awareness, it can also lead to lawlessness. This is why some people are attacking NUP because they have a disregard for the truth.

“I shouldn’t be the one speaking on behalf of Parliament but the institution also doesn’t know about his whereabouts. They just learnt of it from social media. People have to know that there are protocols to follow while going out to receive treatment. But he didn’t, that’s why you never heard MPs like Nambooze crying for help. He’s now being used by some lawless people to spread lies,” said Hilderman.

Meanwhile, this issue has seen Bobi Wine lock horns with  former friend turned enemy Mentone Prince (MP Nsereko.)
