I Am The Care Taker Of DP Now, Hon. Lulume Bayigga

Buikwe South Member of Parliament, Lulume Bayigga, has said he is now the caretaker of Democratic Party. According to him, Hon. Nobert Mao defected from the party but they can’t follow him to the grave yard. Bayigga accused the media of being responsible for imposing Mao on DP as their party president till this day yet it’s not apparently so.

“I am leading the remainder of the party after the defection of the President. I am the caretaker of the party (Democratic Party) now. When you lose someone, you don’t follow them to the graveyard.”

“You can’t lead from another clan. I am going to organize a press conference to reprogram the media people. This is because they are the ones imposing Minister Nobert Mao on the Democratic Party,” Bayigga added.

In line with this, Bayigga says it is the right of the people to audit opposition and check what they are up to. This auditing, according to him keeps them as opposition in line because they have to produce results. However, he says the current ruling party has played a huge part in weakening opposition by giving them places of leadership in the government.

Meanwhile, up until now, it is not so clear whether Minister Nobert Mao is still the president of DP or not. Everytime he is caught speaking, he emphasises that he is still in DP but his colleagues think otherwise.
