Focus On The Moral Upbringing Of Your Children – Rose Namayanja

Deputy Secretary-General of NRM, Rose Namayanja, has urged parents to focus on the moral upbringing of their children. She said this while in Nabwendo village in Kikandwa sub-county where she was attending a mock graduation of top-class pupils at Good Foundation primary school. She says focus should be shifted from the inheritance of the children because morals are more paramount.

“Don’t focus so much on the property that your children will bequeath or inherit. Instead, offer them proper guidance, and mentorship to realize their own greater dreams,” she said.

Rose Namanja also encouraged the parents to offer the best education to both boys and girls without discrimination. She says both genders are equally important in the community’s development and transformation. It is still unfortunate that til date, some parents are still in the belief that girls don’t need to go so far with their education.

Meanwhile, most of the parents had indeed ignored the fact that children need moral training. Most parents focus on making money than making time for their children which has affected the society. In the end ill-mannered children grow up to be irresponsible citizens of the country. Thia affects the nation at large. It is probably good for parents to look out for the morals of their children.
