It’s Okay For My Children To Watch Movies With Sexual Content- Betty Nambooze

Mukono Municipality MP Hon Betty Bakireke Nambooze has revealed that it’s totally fine for her children to watch movies containing sexual content.

The MP while appearing on Sanyuka TV’s Uncut show made the remarks as she sympathized with presenter Kaiyz over his recent arrest by singer OS Suuna. Nambooze said that what OS Suuna had done to imprison Kayz was so bad.

She said that defamation is a civil case which Kayz should have been taken to civil court and not Kitalya. Nambooze then added that Suuna could have had an external force behind him.

She also expressed her disappointment in UCC for pushing gossip shows past prime airing time.

“I’m not very happy with what OS did to you Kayz. Defamation which he sued you for is a civil case but the way he hastened taking you to jail could have had an external force behind him.”

“Besides I’m appalled by UCC’s decision to push gossip shows from their normal airing time. When I was studying law in Sweden, we were told that kids should never be sent away from watching movies that contain sexual scenes, instead watch them together and offer parental guidance because this is what they will do when they grow up.

Many parents stop their children from watching such movies but allow them to watch movies with violence which they at times adopt,” the MP said.

Use of explicit language and content was one of the reasons UCC shifted these shows to 10pm-5am. Nambooze also revealed that music is one of the easiest ways to speak to the youth.

She further discussed singer Jose Chameleone’s recent political meanderings. It should be noted that Nambooze was one of the people who welcomed Chameleone into DP.

The singer followed her when she moved to NUP but later left the party back to NRM.
