Keko Opens Up About Her Struggles With Mental Illness

Female rapper Keko has finally opened up about her struggles with Mental illness that almost ended her life during the Covid-19 lockdown. the rapper moved to Canada for further studies and greener pastures six years ago.

She went silent in her music career to focus on what had taken her.

Keko, however, returned to social media in a very worrying state during the lockdown in 2020. She made a live Instagram video which left her fans fearing for her life.

She looked troubled as she was drinking and speaking words that didn’t coordinate. There was a video that made rounds of police showing up at her apartment and checking on her.

After the incident, the singer went silent not until last month when she returned to Uganda ready to continue with her music career.

In the interviews she did, she said for the time she was in Canada, she struggled with some mental health issues. The singer said it hasn’t been easy for her to openly talk about it but the reality is that it took a toll on her life.

She revealed that she is now on the road to recovery and she is ready to raise awareness. This is because most people suffer but they don’t have a way of speaking about it.

“I have been struggling with mental illness in my life in Canada. It hasn’t been easy for me but I am slowly recovering and I hope to inspire the young people going through the same struggles,” she said.
