Kibuli SS Loses To 9-Man Qatar In Group E Opener

Early games on Sunday saw Uganda’s Kibuli SS lose 0-1 to Qatar at the Muhammed VI sports complex in the 2023 ISF World Schools Championships. Match day one of the Championships in Rabat City, Morocco happened on Sunday.

The game of football is called beautiful for many different reasons. This time, it happened to be the collective team effort to win the game despite the unfavorable odds. The highlight of the game was Qatar getting two red cards, and still holding their ground to win the game.

Under the scorching sun, Qatar scored through Azzam Adnan Saleh, and continued to defend their goal firmly. The two red cards were presented to Yousif Gaballah and Hamad Ahrak.

Kibuli had a chance to level matters or even winning the game, but the team’s attacking players failed to deliver. When the Brazilian referee Fernando called for full time, many fans could not believe the results.

“We gave our best in the game and fell short. We now look forward the next match against China 1” Kibuli S.S team captain Bahiirah Mukiibi who looked visibly devastated revealed moments after the game.

In other matches, the hosts Morocco started the campaign in high gear, winning 3-0 against Czech Republic. Ossama Ghador, Yousef Boudhna and Yassin Ajour scored the goals for the hosts.
