MPs Should Learn How To Lobby For Their Areas – Frank Gashumba

Motivational Speaker, Frank Gashumba has said MPs should learn how to lobby for their areas. Gashumba said this while on a late-night show on NBS.

“Politics doesn’t end on radios and TV. Members of Parliament should learn how to lobby for their people. These ministers know politics. It is evident that their people benefit when they get prominent positions. All these other MPs should learn how to lobby. Members of Parliament from different regions should always work together to lobby for their people. The level of togetherness I witnessed in Acholi amused me.”

Gashumba said this in response to what some MPs said that it is easier to lobby for your community when you are a Minister. According to him, this is not the issue but rather, all MPs should know the art of lobbying for their areas.

“I have realized that you need to be a minister for your people to benefit. I want to be a minister too. The Appropriation Bill 2022 that is expected to be tabled before Parliament points out how Ministers in government have favored their districts against others,” Hon. David Kabanda pointed out.

Kabanda also added figuratively how much a few districts recieved.

“Rubanda was allocated UGX 12 billion, Kayunga UGX 8 billion, Kakumiro UGX 10 billion, Kibaale UGX 8 billion, Adjuman UGX 11 billion, Mayuge UGX 8 billion, and Isingiro UGX 11 billion,” He added.
