Museveni And NRM Have Only Taken Care Of Themselves For The Last 36 Years – Nambooze

Hon. Betty Nambooze has said for the last 36 years, NRM and Museveni have only taken care of themselves. She says NRM has invested a lot in state building but captured the state.

According to her, this is more or less working for themselves and not Ugandans.

“The little we have been able to achieve as a country has always ended in tears. What NRM and Mr. Museveni have done is state-building. They have invested a lot of money in the state. Unfortunately, they have captured the state,” Nambooze said.

Nambooze also stressed the fact that NRM has completely failed at democracy. In her view, democracy is beyond elections. Apparently, it’s only People Power that has it.

“Democracy is the rule of the people by the people and for the people. This doesn’t fall anywhere beyond People Power. Elections are not a representation of democracy. Hon. Look at the Catholic Church. They peacefully got a new Archbishop and leadership transfered from the late to New Archbishop. That can’t happen for the presidency in Uganda. NRM has failed completely when it comes to security.”

She revealed again that she is working on a book that she is launching soon. It will entail the achievements of NRM for the last 36 years.

“I have written a book summarizing the achievements of #NRMat36. I’ll be launching it soon.”
