NWSC MD Silver Mugisha Claims Current Meters Are Cheating The Institution

Dr. Silver Mugisha the Managing Director of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has claimed that the current meters across the country are cheating the institution.

This comes at a time when Ugandans are grappling and complaining about high water bills they have described as dubious.

A lot of people have taken to social media to complain about the high water bills. However, Mr. Silver Mugisha gave an example of how it’s the water corporation that should be complaining.

According to him, when a person wakes up and flashes their toilet at night, the water that passes through the tank is not counted by the meter.

“Did you know that when you wake up at night and flush your toilet, the water that flows through the tank is not registered by the meter? Meters are cheating us.”

Additionally, he also faulted people for poor water use. He said that some of these waste water unnecessarily and think that the problem is with NWSC.

The NWSC boss further wondered why the same people complaining about high water bills cannot say the same about other things they consume such as beer.

“If people are taking beer and saying it’s not expensive, why are they saying water is expensive? Both beer and water require input.”

Furthermore, he said that the Corporation has solved the problem of water shortages. It’s now sufficient and the problem of transmission has also been addressed. The only challenge they are facing now is distributing it to the masses.
