President Museveni To Address National Security Today

President Museveni has passed a communication to the country that he’s set to address the country today on matters of national security. Through his X (formerly Twitter) page, Museveni said that this address will be broadcast live across all media platforms. It will happen at 8 pm.

Additionally, the President said that the issues he intends to address concern security and others of national importance.

“Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, I will address the nation in a LIVE broadcast tomorrow, Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 8pm on security and other issues of national importance.”

The President has in the past made such national addresses occasionally especially when there is an issue of critical importance.

It should be noted that the Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga revealed that 6 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered around Kampala in a 48-hour operation.

Some of these were recovered from Bunamwaya, Natete and Rubaga. All these come after the UK warned of increased militia activity in Uganda.

It should be noted that a few months ago, suspected ADF rebels attacked and set ablaze Mpondwe-Lhubiriha secondary school in Kasese district. At least 44 people including students lost their lives.

It’s not clear whether the President will also address NUP president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s ongoing countrywide tour. This has seen thousands of crowds turn up to show support for the singer-turned-politician.
