Rainwater Sweeps Off Boda Boda Rider In Busega, Body Not Found

Authorities are looking for the body of a Boda boda rider who was swept off by rainwater earlier today at Busega Round-about. This happened after a heavy early this morning downpour that saw traffic disrupted across many areas of Kampala.

Okello Godfrey, an eye witness and reporter for Ssekanolya Newspaper in his account to Newslexpoint, said the Boda Boda rider, estimated to be about 35 years old was carrying a passenger.

“The passenger jumped off the motorbike, something she did without informing the rider. This instantly tripped him and he fell into a trench.” Okello said.

Onlookers tried to rescue him but unfortunately, the flood water was flowing at a dangerous speed. The water swept him into a tunnel together with his motorbike. He tried to cry out for help but his fellow Boda Boda riders could not rescue him in time. They recovered his bike but could not find his body.

This however is not a strange incident. Several cases of rainwater sweeping off Boda Bodas or pedestrians have been reported in the past.
