Ronald Mayinja Is The Description Of Uganda’s Perverted Politics – Journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala

NBS journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala has come out to label singer Ronald Mayinja as a perfect description of the perverted politics in Uganda. Taking to his Twitter page, Njala said that he misses Ronald Mayinja’s music.

He further added that listening to the Golden Band singer’s ‘Tuli ku bunkenke’ song reckons the force he was. He however betrayed his conscience for just crumbs of bread according to the journalist.

“I miss Ronald Mayinja. He’s the epitome of bad politics that perverted Uganda. I’ve just listened to his Tuli ku bunkenke. Never betray your conscience for crumbs of bread,” Simon said.

In the mid-2000s, Ronald Mayinja was one of the most politically acclaimed singers.

He hit out at the government through his different songs such as Tuli ku bunkenke, Africa among others. It’s quite fair to say that he was more of a political threat to the government together with Kadongo Kamu singer, Mathias Walukaaga.

The duo even criticized the government with the music than Bobi Wine then.

Mayinja then joined Bobi Wine’s NUP prior to the presidential election. There was even talk that he was going to contest for a parliamentary seat on the NUP ticket.

However, sooner than expected, Mayinja turned around like an axe on a tree. He joined the NRM and was officially unveiled much to the shock of NUP and other government critics.

The singer would go on to release the theme song for President Museveni in the 2021 General elections. This was titled ‘Akalulu.’ Since then however Mayinja has been musically silent with many people wondering if he was dumped by NRM.
