Witch Doctors Should Stop Working On Sick People Now – President Museveni

President Museveni has directed all witch doctors and herbalists in the country to stop working on sick people because of the spread of Ebola.

Museveni said this while addressing the nation on the state of Ebola in the country. Apparently, a number of people have been running to witch doctors after getting signs of Ebola.

“Witch doctors, traditionalists and herbalists should not accept sick people now. Suspend what you are doing now. There is no witchcraft here, Ebola is a disease. The communities in the affected areas should know that Ebola is deadly and spreads through contact with an infected person.”

“Religious leaders should also not accept sick people who come seeking prayers to heal by miracle. God instructed in Genesis to establish dominion over nature, medicine is part of that,” Museveni added..

He, therefore, urged people to be vigilant because Ebola is not like Malaria or stomach upset and this is the reason he declared it an outbreak. On this note, he declared areas that are high-risk spots for Ebola.

“Mubende, Kasanda, Kagadi, Bunyangabu and Kyegwegwa are in category one (high-risk areas). Kampala and Wakiso are in category two, and the rest of the country is in category three (low risk).”

Museveni said the Ministry Of Health and the government have the capacity the handle this situation so Ugandans should trust them.
