Sobbi was arrested on Monday together with two other colleagues including Shafiq Kasozi and Twaha Tim while conducting an interview with NBSTV at Rose gardens in Kyengera

“We released Paddy Sserunjogi and two others arrested recently on bond as investigations into the allegations of murder and working with police officers in commission of crimes,”Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has said in a statement this afternoon.

“This doesn’t stop the investigation and whoever has a complaint against the trio.”

In an interview with the media recently,  the group openly confessed of working with some police officers in terrorising the city and its residents.

However Kayima said that anyone with information about crimes committed by the trio is welcome at CID headquarters   to have their statements recorded for appropriate handling.

“The three suspects will be reporting back at KMP Hqtrs on Friday next week.”

The statement by the police mouthpiece seems to contradict with his boss, the Inspector General of Police, Gen.Kale Kayihura.
Gen.Kayihura told the defence committee in parliament on Wednesday morning that Sobbi, as is commonly referred to has cases to answer and that police is investigating how he got out of police cells in Nalufenya.

“Those asking questions about release of Sobbi should direct them to the minister of security, “Kayihura said before alleging that Lt.Gen.Henry Tumukunde has on many occasions involved himself in police operations.
