2 New Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed In Uganda

News that reached our desk this morning indicates that more 2 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Uganda yesterday (29/04/2020) bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 81. This has probably portrayed an additionally days in lockdown, which has affected very many Ugandans especially from down town.

However, the 2 new cases out of 299 samples tested among the community and individuals under quarantine. They include a 24-year-old Ugandan and a 21-year-old refugee from Burundi. Both of these patients are under quarantine at Rakai Hospital.

All 1,703 samples from truck drivers at border points of entry tested negative for COVID-19. A total of 2,002 samples tested yesterday.

As of today, only 52 patients out of the 81 cases have recovered and no one has died. The lockdown has proved slow movement of the deadly virus that has killed thousands of people in other countries including Italy, United States, Spain and many others.

Don’t forget that in East Africa, Uganda ranked number one to fight the virus.

The 2 cases that were confirmed this time around never came in from the truck drivers as before and therefore.

People are urged to continue washing their hands and keep social distance as the President said during the recent address about COVID-19.
