Azawi Unhappy With The State Of Affairs In Uganda

Singer Priscilla Zawedde aka Azawi is unhappy with the state of affairs in the country. She took to her X page to comment about what she thinks things are being run.

The Masavu singer said that she went to perform recently in Zombo district. However, what she saw there was heartbreaking. People live in dire situations.

The singer went ahead to say that it’s a pity citizens pay hefty taxes but they can’t benefit the layman.

Additionally, the Swangz Avenue singer wondered why at all taxes have to be paid in the country. This is because they go to only a few selective people who are only parasites sucking the poor ones.

“Not so long ago, I went to perform in ZOMBO district and what I saw there was heartbreaking. Mwana nga embeera ya bantu mbi nyo. We pay crazy taxes but it hurts that it can’t even benefit our most vulnerable people okujjako ABAKAMUZI !! So why pay taxes?? I mean why??,” she wondered.

Apparently, people in various places in the country live in dire situations and can’t even afford basic needs. This is across the entire country. Despite the government’s efforts to stamp out corruption, it seems to be the order of the day.

Many public officials have swindled and embezzled public funds and there have been no repercussions for them. This has resulted into continued misuse of public resources at the expense of the public.
