In a recent court ruling, a barmaid has been handed a six-month prison sentence for the theft of Shs 77,000 from her employer.

The incident came to light during a trial in which the barmaid, identified as Amutuhire stood accused of embezzling funds from her employer from the counter at NK Bar in Kacwampare, Rugoba in Nyabuhikye sub county.

However the court presided by Her worship Esther Murungi carefully examined the evidence presented and found the defendant guilty of the charges brought against her.
