City Lawyer Gunned Down Outside His Gate In Kajjansi

Police at Kampala Metropolitan South is actively investigating a murder-by-shooting incident in which a city lawyer was killed just outside his residence in Kajjansi off Entebbe Road. According to the KMP Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the tragic incident occurred on the night of 30th May 2023 at Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo in Wakiso District.

The victim identified as Mukisa Ronnie, was a 45-year-old City lawyer working at IBC Advocates located in Namanda Plaza, Kampala.

Mr Owoyesigyire says Mukisa was “shot multiple times in the head” by an unidentified individual over yet-to-be-known reason. He also said preliminary information received indicates that Mr Mukisa would often return home late. However, on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot at approximately 2300hrs and proceeded to open his gate as usual.

“After parking his dark blue Subaru Legacy with registration number UBJ 006K, Mr Mukisa proceeded to close the gate. It was during his return to the apartment that neighbours heard gunshots. This prompted them to investigate the commotion,” Owoyesigyire said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

He added that according to statements recorded from eyewitnesses, an unidentified individual was seen shooting at Mr Mukisa before briefly withdrawing. He again returned to shoot him at close range multiple times in the head. The assailant quickly fled the scene and escaped on a waiting motorcycle, the direction of which remains unknown.

Owoyesigyire also added that the police at Kajjansi Station took immediate action upon receiving the report of the incident. A team was dispatched to the scene, followed by the introduction of canines to aid in the investigation. A thorough search of the area also led to the recovery of four projectiles and cartridges.

“We urge anyone with relevant information regarding this incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigation,” he said.
