DP And UPC Will Soon Be Forgotten In Uganda – Hon Ssemujju Nganda

Kiira Municipality Member of Parliament Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has lashed out at political parties UPC and DP.

He said that these will soon be forgotten in the history of Uganda especially in the struggle against injustice.

According to Ssemujju, these have connived with the NRM to continue oppressing Ugandans.

“DP and UPC will be forgotten. The fight against injustice is what will give you justice. This @NRMOnline you are conniving with, work with it at your own risk. It is important that we do things justly in interest of the country.”

This was in relation to the EALA elections in which FDC lost out. NRM had six winners in this controversial election, DP one who was their Secretary-General Gerald Ssiranda.

FDC, JEEMA and UPC who participated in this election all lost out as the other two candidates that went through were independent ones.

Hon Ssemujju also disputed the fact that 495 MPs voted out of the 529 who are in Parliament. This is because NUP which has 59 MPs in Parliament decreed that they wouldn’t be taking part in the election.

The vocal MP also added that he had two of the FDC MPs with him and they weren’t in Parliament at the time of voting. Ssemujju further said that there is no time when all MPs have ever been in Parliament.

Therefore the speaker will have to explain where all these numbers came from yet even some NRM MPs were not present.

However, government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo said that some NUP MPs went against the party’s decree and voted. Opondo even told NUP’s hierarchy to ask for CCTV footage in order to ascertain this.

Butambala District MP Hon Muwanga Kivumbi said that they will carry out an investigation. And if they find out that some of their members went against the party and voted, they will be penalized.
