He Said His Mind- Afrigo Band’s Joanita Kawalya On Moses Matovu’s Altercation With Hon Ssewungu

Afrigo Band member Joanita Kawalya has come out to defend her fellow band member, Moses Matovu. This followed the veteran singer’s altercation with Kalungu County west MP Hon Joseph Gonzaga Ssewungu over the weekend.

Matovu blasted Ssewungu who had come to the stage to give orders to Matovu on what songs he should sing. A displeased Matovu told Ssewungu that he doesn’t like being told what to do and should be left alone.

He further said that these MPs want to act like intellects yet their Parliament is fake. According to Matovu, there are people like him who have become so tired of politicians politicizing everything.

According to Joanita, Matovu said exactly what was on his mind and shouldn’t be criticized for it. However, she won’t accuse any politician of trying to dictate their performances.

“I have been with Matovu since 1989 and all I can say is that he’s an easy, simple and forgiving man. What happened between him and Hon Ssewungu was him just saying his mind. He might have had his own troubles that have been building up slowly inside him. However, for my case, I have never had any problems with any politician,” she said.

A number of people actually came out to applaud Matovu for the bold step he took. He even rejected Ssewungu’s money leaving the MP all looking embarrassed.
