Hospitals Under Fire Over Botched Circumcision

Many people have started asking many questions after a number of hospitals conducted failed circumcision procedures in Kenya. 18 boys were admitted to various hospitals with one dying after being put through the procedure.

Last month, 6 boys were admitted at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret. One of the boys arrived in a very critical condition after circumcision.

A family in Bungoma County remained baffled after doctors poorly operated on their son. The effects of this poor procedure required specialized screen grafting surgery outside the country.

This specific circumcision operation took place in Bungoma Referral Hospital. The father of the boy, visibly upset, told the tale of the unfortunate events that led to the procedure. He thereafter called for action against the medics who were involved to avoid this happening again.

Another journalist sought action against a doctor who poorly circumcised her two sons just a few days ago. The botched medical procedure left the health of the two boys in danger.

She promised to lodge a complaint with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

“I do not want him to do that to another child. That is a very vital organ,” the veteran journalist said.
